Who Needs One?

The CSCS Green Card is required by construction sites if you are going to work there and carry out manual labour to assist with the building, repairing and cleaning of structures and sites. The card provides holders with the knowledge of the main hazards they could come across whilst working onsite.

How Long Do They Last?

CSCS Green Cards are valid for two years on first application. Workers who continue in labouring roles can renew for five years by providing evidence they are employed in a labouring role.

Why Are They Required?

CSCS Cards prove that holders have completed appropriate training required to work onsite. They help contractors and employers control site access using cards using readers, tablets or mobiles avoiding the need to manually record this. Cards also play an important part in improving standards and safety on UK construction sites through raising awareness of individuals responsibilities for health and safety along with best working practices.

Are They A Legal Requirement?

Although CSCS Cards are not a legal requirement the majority of house builders, recruitment agencies and large contractors require labourers and visitors to hold a valid CSCS Green Labourers card.

This course is recommended for individuals who are living in the UK, are working in the general construction and need to work on construction sites which require CSCS Cards for entry. Most significantly, this course is essential for those wishing to apply for a CSCS Green Labourers Card.

The CSCS Green Labourer card replaced the construction site operative (CSO) in 2014. This made completing a level 1 Health Safety and Awareness qualification mandatory to be able to get a CSCS Green Card. The health safety and awareness course are accredited and will allow you to gain the Level 1 award in Health and Safety in a construction environment equivalent upon completion. This is an essential step in applying for a CSCS Green Operatives Card.
